Bonjour à tous,
Voilà la réponse de P. P. Thornton. :
"For brass 1800", Il parle d'une qualité de laiton ou d'une vitesse de rotation ? Dans ce cas, 1800 tr/min me semble bien rapide par rapport à Bergeon.
Bonne journée
Pierre

Hi Pierre,
Sorry not to have replied as quickly as you would like but I have to do all the work and make parts myself as I work on my own now and I only type one fingered.
The speed for cutting steel will depend on the type of steel you are using but I would start at 200 revs per min for a start and a fairly fine feed, if you are taking a finishing cut go even slower and with a fine feed and a very slight cut.
For brass 1800 or slightly more will be ok and a faster roughing cut, finishing with a very fine feed and slight cut this gives a very good finish.
If you need any more info please give me a ring on
Hope this is of some help to you.
Best Wishes.
Chris Lowe
